Incat Reaches 500 Employees with 200 More Skilled Tradesmen Needed

August 2006 is marked by two significant events at Incat’s Tasmanian Shipyard.

The launch and sea trials of our sixth vessel, Milenium Tres (Incat Hull 062), to see service with Spain’s leading shipping company, Acciona Trasmediterránea.

Importantly for the Tasmanian economy, employment at Incat has once again reached the 500 employee mark and rising.

Confidence in the world’s fast ship building market has prompted a program of recruitment, coupled with the announcement by Libera Corporation that they have purchased two Australian designed and built 112 metre car/passenger ferries from Incat Tasmania Pty Ltd. The first to see service in Mid 2007.

The two vessels will be the first time that the Australian revolutionary Wave Piercing Catamarans will operate on a regular passenger/car ferry service within Japan.

The recruitment drive continues at Incat to fulfil these contracts on budget and on time and we are actively seeking skilled tradespersons from far and wide.
